A Tecnikart Racing field note
Tecnikart
Racing.
The work
before the drive.
Before a kart goes out, there is fuel to prepare, tyres to check, parts to find and a temporary paddock to make work.
Inside the paddock
01 / Around the machine
A race day starts
well before the race.
Driving is the visible part. Around it are preparation, a briefing, equipment and people making the day work.

Panels, stands,
tyres and parts.
Working objects.

02 / Making room to run
The circuit is
part of the work.
This owner-driven competition karting often takes place in adapted outdoor settings: car parks, temporary paddocks and city demonstrations.
Making the space usable is part of the day, alongside preparing the karts themselves.

The collection is a probable match to the 17 September 2023 city event. Read the contemporary coverage

Some of the record
is still held
in photographs.
Older grids and venues, kept together as an object. The board and the present-day lap-board scene document different events.
03 / People in the record
Bill.
The longer view.

Belal “Bill” Ghanty is my father. His involvement in Mauritian karting extends across technical work and organisation.
Contemporary reporting in 2004 places him in a technical role on a championship committee. In 2005, coverage describes race direction, organisation and scrutineering.
A 2022 Défi Moteurs feature returns to the practical work: maintaining and repairing karts, supporting drivers and organising regular sessions.

04 / Tecnikart today
A machine.
A working operation.

Tecnikart Racing is the family karting business, technical operation and racing activity I’m involved in today.
The machines still need preparation, parts and attention. The photographs alongside them hold a longer record of the sport.

- Tecnikart Racing
- The karting business, practical technical work and family racing activity.
- Motoclub Racing Team
- The separate club structure handling formal club/event work and authority-facing formalities.
Motor Racing Club (MRC) is a separate organisation again.
05 / My part in it
Alongside the work.
Increasingly hands-on.
I work alongside Bill on kart preparation, parts, tyres and troubleshooting, and help organise track days and races.
- 01 Preparation / parts / tyres
- I help check what needs attention, prepare tyres and parts, and work through mechanical issues with Bill to get karts ready for track days and races. Bill is the more experienced technical lead; I increasingly handle parts of the preparation myself.
- 02 Planning / logistics / admin
- I help coordinate with drivers and kart owners, prepare equipment, work through logistics and handle parts of the organisation and administration around the day.
- 03 On the day
- Preparing equipment and helping with the practical work around track days and races.
Back to the track
And then,
out again.
A day on track.
More preparation before the next one.

Contemporary reporting is linked alongside the relevant history. Identities, family relationships and my current contribution are based on my confirmed account. Archive dates remain qualified where the original capture date is unknown.
Modern paddock, city and event photographs: Naim Allumsah Photography. F01 and the photo board: family-supplied archive; original photographers unconfirmed. The supplied current Tecnikart Racing logo is distinct from older branding visible in archive photographs. The Défi Moteurs video is embedded from its original YouTube source.
The 2023 public coverage concerns the wider city event; no car classifications are presented here as karting results.
